American Airlines Cargo is expanding its operations this winter by adding new routes to increase passenger flight belly capacity. These new services will operate from Rio de Janeiro, Brisbane, and Tokyo, along with more options in Latin America.

As part of its winter schedule, American Airlines will introduce a seasonal service from Rio de Janeiro's Galeão International Airport (GIG) to Dallas/Fort Worth International Airport (DFW) using a Boeing 787-8. The airline will also increase its daily flights from Rio to John F. Kennedy International Airport (JFK).

In Miami, American is ramping up services from Guarulhos International Airport (GRU) and Buenos Aires Ezeiza International Airport to up to three daily flights. This change will add nearly 200 roundtrip widebody departures from Latin America compared to last winter.

On the Pacific front, American is launching its first-ever service from Brisbane Airport (BNE) to DFW, marking the longest non-stop flight in its network. After a successful summer introduction, a new service will connect Tokyo-Haneda Airport (HND) to JFK. Both routes will operate with Boeing 787-9 aircraft.

American will also increase flight frequencies, offering daily service from Shanghai Pudong International Airport (PVG) to DFW throughout the season. Flights from Auckland International Airport (AKL) to Los Angeles International Airport (LAX) will begin earlier in December.

The airline's Pacific operations will see over 150 more roundtrip widebody flights than last winter. American's transatlantic network remains strong, with daily service from Barcelona to Philadelphia International Airport (PHL). The airline will operate more widebody departures from London Heathrow Airport (LHR) than any other U.S. airline.

American Airlines Cargo's vice president of commercial, Roger Samways, said, "We look forward to entering this winter season with a robust global widebody network to support our customers." He expressed excitement about connecting DFW and GIG with new, non-stop service. This winter schedule will help connect freight across five continents, meeting the industry's global needs.
