The inaugural nonstop flight between San Francisco and New Delhi is ready to touch down on Saturday, December 7 at Delhi’s IGI Airport early this morning. The flight which will depart for San Francisco on the same day at 7:15 pm has opened up more options for Indian travelers visiting the USA more than before.
A top United Airlines official said that travelers between India and U.S. are going to immensely benefit from United Airlines’ new nonstop service. It may be noted that United Airlines is currently into joint venture partnership with Air Canada and Lufthansa Group.
The new nonstop SFO-Delhi flight has become possible due to the open skies agreement between the world’s two biggest democracies – the United States and India.
United Airlines along with its partners Air Canada and Lufthansa is working to expand its European network with flights to Munich, Frankfurt and Zurich.
According to United Airlines official, many Indian travelers departing later in the day want a connection to Europe and return nonstop. The new service is therefore being launched keeping in view the needs of the Indian travelers while offering them flexibility and seamless connectivity.
United Airlines will initially provide daily nonstop flights between San Francisco and Delhi till March 27, 2020, and from March 28 onwards till October 23 the service will be offered thrice weekly.
