Turkish Airlines has announced it is expanding its U.S. network with the re-launch of its Newark route next year.
Turkey’s national carrier is set to launch nonstop flights between Newark and Istanbul starting from 25th May 2020. The flights will be operated daily with the help of an Airbus A330-300 aircraft. The airline will be offering fully flat beds in its business class, with a 2-2-2 configuration.
Turkish Airlines had earlier operated nonstop flights on Newark-Istanbul route until 1994. The airline once again decided to resume the service on the route after an interval of more than 25 years.
The airline’s inaugural flight TK29 will depart from Istanbul at 6:35 pm and arrive in Newark at 10:30 pm local time. The return flight will make its departure from Newark at 12:25 am and reach Istanbul at 5:10 pm local time.
The flight on Istanbul-Newark route will be covering a distance of over 5,000 miles. The eastbound flight will be of 9 hr 45 min, while the westbound flight will be of 10 hr 55 min. The sale of tickets is already on.
The expanded route will be complementing Turkish Airlines’ thrice daily flights to New York JFK. Apart from New York, the other destinations in USA served by Turkish Airlines include Washington DC, San Francisco, Miami, Los Angeles, Houston, Chicago, Boston and Atlanta.
