Alaska Airlines unaccompanied policy is called ‘Junior Jetsetters’. It is designed for Alaska Airlines unaccompanied minor travelers. The program ‘ Junior Jetsetters’ is designed keeping the safety and convenience of unaccompanied minors in mind. Everyone who is between 5 and 17 of age required to get this service by Alaska Airlines.
Alaska does not allow such minors to travel alone who are less than 5 years of age. Between age groups from 5 to 12 years are allowed to travel unaccompanied, but they must have to take the service of ‘Junior Jetsetters’ of Alaska Airlines. A minor who is between 13 and 17 years old has an option to take the service. The carrier has kept this service optional for them.

The program is designed in such a way that the unaccompanied minor feels safe during the journey and can be handed over conveniently to the authorized person at the destination point. All safety measurement is included in this program by Alaska Airlines. A wristband and a lanyard are provided to the minors travelers flying alone. This way helps the ground staff and as well as flight attendants to quick and clear recognition of Alaska Airlines unaccompanied minors. A special and earlier boarding process is also provisioned to all unaccompanied minor travelers.
If the child becomes ill, Alaska makes all possible contact with any of the parents or legal guardians. If it is a serious illness, Alaska contacts the appropriate medical experts itself and will try to make all possible options to contact the parents or legal guardians. In that scenario where a child gets a serious illness, the flight attendant or ground staff neither control nor administer medicines being carried by unaccompanied minors. Between age from 5 to 7 years old unaccompanied travelers are not allowed to travel unaccompanied if there is any connecting flight between the journey. It is restricted to direct flights only. Children between age groups starting from 8 to 12 are allowed to travel alone for connecting flights as well. But there is a condition that the waiting time of connecting flights is not more than 2 hours.
Between the age group of 5 to 7, the carrier does not allow booking in a flight beginning from 9 PM to 5 AM. The same rule is applicable for those unaccompanied minors between age 8 to 12 if connecting flight time starts between 9PM to 5AM.

Very limited seats are available in specific flights of Alaska Airlines for unaccompanied minors. Since it needs a lot of attention and careness to show upon the minors to make him/her reach safely to the destination. Thus, the availability of such seats is fewer.
Fees and charges vary depending on the age group of an unaccompanied minor. $50 is to be paid each way as a fee for the children between 5 and 7 however, an amount of $75 is required to pay for the minors who are between age 8 to 12 for connecting flights, and just &50 to pay if it is a direct flight.
Between 13 and 17 age group children, this service is optional for them. They have to pay $50 for a non-stop flight and $75 for a connecting flight each way if they have chosen the service of “Junior Jetsetters”.
Alaska Airlines unaccompanied minor fee is waived off for those frequent flyers whose loyalty status is MVP, MVP Gold, or Gold 75K Mileage Plan under the Alaska Frequent flyer program called “Mileage Plan™.
If due to any reason, it is a weather or any operational compulsion, a pre-assigned flight is cancelled by Alaska Airlines, the carrier will not rebook another flight automatically of unaccompanied minors. The carrier needs a fresh approval and consents of the parents or legal guardian in written.
