JetBlue Airways offers an unaccompanied minor program for those minor travelers who are flying alone with JetBlue Airways. Getting enrolled in this program is mandatory for those who are travelling unaccompanied with JetBlue. You can get required enrollment form the official website of JetBlue Airways. A child between 5 and 13 is considered minor and he/she has to take JetBlue Airways unaccompanied minor service compulsorily. A child less than 5 years of age is not allowed to travel solo and will not be granted the service of JetBlue Airways unaccompanied minor. Older than 13 years of age is not considered minor by JetBlue thus, he/she is not bound to take the service of JetBlue Airways unaccompanied minor service.
JetBlue Airways unaccompanied booking process is easy. You can book a flight for minors travelling alone on the official website of JetBlue Airways or call our JetBlue phone number. It is mandatory to pay a service charge of an unaccompanied minor flight while making a reservation for him/her. The service charge will be additional to the flight booking reservation costs. JetBlue Airways charges $150 for one-way trip per passenger and $300 per passenger for round trips. The service charge of minor flight is automatically applied to the total price and must be paid at the time of booking. Parents need to make sure that they provide complete details of the child who will fly along with the details of the persons who will drop him/her to the check-in gate and will take handover of the child once the plan is landed at the destination.
If your child is going to fly with anyone who is more than 14 years old and flying in the same plane but on a different booking, you can get your service charge back by making a request on the portal or by calling customer service of the airline. You will be asked to provide a booking confirmation code of that flyer your child is accompanied by.
One of the child’s parents or legal guardians needs to fill out the enrollment form under the JetBlue Airways unaccompanied minor program. It is mandatory to fill the form before starting the travel. You need to get 3 copies of the filled form and handover it to the representative of JetBlue Airways. The name should be correctly mentioned on the form as per the ID cards. Passport, travel documents and custom related documents should be available with the person who is coming to drop off and the same will be handed over to the representative of JetBlue.

The person who will come to drop off the child needs to contact the Transportation Safety Administration to get a pass issued for him/her to come to the check-in point along with the child. Please be advised that TSA provides just one pass in such scenarios thus, do not bring another child with him/her while coming to drop off the unaccompanied minor traveler. JetBlue advises the parents to wait at least 30 minutes after the take-off. If there is any technical or whether related issues happen and the plane returns to the airport, he/she might be called to pick up the child.
Unlike other Airlines, JetBlue does not give options to parents to book seats for unaccompanied minors in any cabin as per their choice. By keeping in mind an additional precaution, JetBlue has decided to keep seats reserved at the backside of the aircraft.
Seats ABC in the last row of the aircraft are reserved for unaccompanied minors so that the in-flight crew can assist them easily when needed.
Drop-off and Pick-up facility is available at the selected airports for JetBlue Airways minors travelling alone. Since JetBlue does not have provision to make reservation of unaccompanied minors for any connecting flight whether it is domestic or international flights, parents should know all about the policy of flying minors alone with the carrier. The parents or guardian who is authorized to pick up the JetBlue Airways unaccompanied minor are advised to arrive at the destination airport not later than 30 minutes from the arrival time of the plane with a valid ID proof which is mentioned in enrollment form.
Every country has a special requirement of documents coming from different countries. Such as, they may need special notarized later or statements from guardian and parent to travel alone. Parents are advised to hand over all related documents to the child travelling alone before starting the flight.
