Delta and United Airlines Suspend Flights to Israel Amid Rising Tensions
Delta Airlines and United Airlines have suspended all their flights to Israel in response to escalating tensions in the Middle East. United Airlines is discontinuing its daily service from Newark Liberty International Airport to Tel Aviv, starting with the flight scheduled for Wednesday night. The airline is currently addressing security concerns and carefully assessing the situation to guarantee the safety of all passengers and crew on board. A United spokesperson assured them that they are closely monitoring the conflict and will update their plans accordingly.
Delta Airlines temporarily suspends flights between New York's JFK Airport and Tel Aviv until August 2. Sales for the affected flights, including DL234 and DL235, have also been suspended. Delta Airlines has issued a travel waiver allowing passengers to change their plans without incurring fare distinctions until August 14. All travelers affected by these sudden cancellations will be notified through the Fly Delta app and through their reservation contact details.
Both airlines have advised customers to check for updates and changes. U.S. travelers affected by these cancellations are entitled to a full cash refund for their tickets, even if they were nonrefundable.
The U.S. State Department has issued a travel advisory encouraging American citizens to reconsider traveling to Israel and the West Bank for their next trip and to avoid visiting Gaza due to the ongoing conflict.
