On Saturday, a Frontier Airlines flight encountered an emergency landing at Harry Reid International Airport in Las Vegas. Flight 1326 from San Diego made a "hard landing," and witnesses reported seeing flames and smoke from the underside of the aircraft. According to officials, the Frontier Airlines fire occurred as the plane was landing, resulting in blown tires.
The pilots declared an emergency due to smoke in the cockpit. Emergency teams, including the Clark County Fire Department, responded immediately. Thankfully, all 190 passengers and seven crew members were safely evacuated. No injuries were reported, and the passengers were transported to the gate area.
According to the FAA, Frontier Airlines' emergency landing led to a temporary ground stop at the airport until 7 p.m. on Saturday evening. Video footage of the landing showed flames under the aircraft, creating a trail of smoke as the plane came to a stop.
The National Transportation Safety Board and Federal Aviation Administration are investigating the cause of the incident. They have confirmed that airport emergency crews extinguished a fire on the right engine.
This event highlights the importance of strict safety protocols in the airline industry. Frontier Airlines fire incidents like these are rare, and the airline is cooperating fully with authorities to ensure the safety of future flights.
