Getting around the city

Santo Domingo is served by two major airports - Las Américas International Airport (SDQ) and Aeropuerto Internacional La Isabela (JBQ). Flights from international destinations mostly arrive at the Las Américas International Airport, while Aeropuerto Internacional La Isabela is the city’s secondary airport handling flights from budget carriers. Downtown Santo Domingo can be easily reached by limos, hotel shuttle buses, rental cars, taxis and other public transportation. The cheapest way however to reach the city center is through the Guagua buses available from the upper level of the airport’s terminal. Taxis are an expensive option to reach the city.
