Swiss Air’s Hubs & Destinations

SWISS operates out of its primary hub at Zurich Airport, and has a secondary hub at Geneva Airport. Travel Classes by Swiss Air

Swiss offers three classes of travel to its passengers – SWISS First, SWISS Business and SWISS Economy.

SWISS First: The airline offers a personalized care and service to individual passengers travelling in SWISS First by specially trained flight attendants. The perks offers to the first class travellers include access to SWISS First lounge, designer amenity kits, armchairs, gourmet meals, lie-flat beds, personal welcome and dedicated check-in.

SWISS Business: The airline’s SWISS Business has been voted as the best in Europe several times. The new business class seat is spacious and can be converted to a 2-metre flat bed. The seat is also equipped with a massage function. The passengers can enjoy multi-course cuisines accompanied by fine wines. Among other perks offered to business class travellers include personal screens, lounge access, priority check-in, priority boarding and amenity kit.

SWISS Economy: The passengers travelling in SWISS Economy are offered comfortable seats with adjustable headrests. Moreover, seats can also be reserved in advance in a preferred zone or with extra legroom. The passengers are offered a choice of two hot meals – vegetarian or non-vegetarian, accompanied with wine and spirits. Seatback screens with over 140 films, TV programmes and games are also there for in-flight entertainment.

Swiss Air’s Baggage Policy

Swiss Air allows its SWISS First and SWISS Business passengers to take two (2) hand baggage each weighing up to 8 kg. The passengers in the two premium cabins are also allowed two (2) free checked baggage of up to 32 kg each. The passengers are offered priority baggage handling. However, SWISS Economy ticket allows the passengers to carry one hand baggage and checked baggage (except for Light fare). Additional baggage can also be easily booked online whenever desired.

SWISS offers various types of check-in options for flights. These include automated check-in, online check-in, check-in kiosk at the airport, and at the check-in counter at the airport.

Online check-in and mobile check-in can be done between 23 hours and 1 hour before scheduled departure of your flight. You should have your booking reference or e-ticket number at hand for online check-in.

In case if you are not able to print your boarding pass then just don’t worry as you can get it either at the check-in kiosk or at the airport’s check-in desk.

SWISS offers you the option for reserving a seat up to 48 hours prior to your scheduled departure, depending on your route and travel class. You can select your seat at the time of booking or even later.

All of the SWISS flights serve food and drinks are free of charge, except in Economy Light fare on flights from/to Geneva. The food is also not served on all SWISS Economy fares on flights shorter than 1 hour to/from Switzerland.

Your seat reservation will be valid only for the originally booked flight. If you change your flight on the same route then you will be required to rebook your seat reservation for the new flight. If you however change your route then the purchased seat reservation is forfeited.
